SiteClock Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 August 2026
SiteClock is a workforce time-tracking application used by companies to record when their
employees clock in and out of work sites. Your SiteClock account is created and managed by
your employer. This policy explains what data the SiteClock mobile app and service collect,
how it is used, and your choices.
Data we collect
- Account details — your name, phone number, role and employee number, entered by
your employer when they register you.
- Location at punch time only — when you tap Clock In or Clock Out, the app captures
a single GPS reading (latitude, longitude, accuracy) to verify you are at the work site.
SiteClock does not track your location in the background or at any other time.
- Verification selfie — only when you clock in or out away from the assigned work
site (or challenge an automatic clock-out), the app asks you to take a selfie. The photo is
visible only to your site supervisors and company administrators for attendance review.
- Device identifier — an app-scoped device ID used to bind your account to one phone
as an anti-fraud measure, plus device integrity signals (e.g. mock-location or
rooted-device flags) captured at punch time.
- Push notification token — if you allow notifications, a token used to send you
attendance-related notifications.
- Timesheet records — clock-in/out times, work dates, and leave requests, which form
your employer's attendance and payroll records.
How data is used
Data is used solely to operate the time-and-attendance service for your employer: verifying
punches against site geofences, computing timesheets, supervisor approvals, and payroll
exports. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties
other than the infrastructure providers that host the service.
Data sharing and storage
Your data is visible to your employer's authorised supervisors and administrators. It is
stored on managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit (HTTPS). Selfie photos and
punch records are retained as part of your employer's attendance records.
Your choices
- Location and camera permissions — you may deny them in your phone settings;
clocking in requires location, and a selfie is required only for off-site punches.
- Notifications — optional; you can disable them at any time.
- Account deletion — you can delete your account in the app under
Profile → Delete account. This deactivates your account, unbinds your device and
removes your push token. Attendance records already recorded may be retained by your
employer as required for payroll and employment-law compliance; contact your employer's
administrator to request removal of those records.
